The PD-8500 Physical Destroyer damages hard drives in order to ensure the information contained on the hard drive is no longer accessible.

The PD-8500 meets compliance standards for mandates requiring destruction of hard drives containing private and confidential information before hard drive disposal.

The PD-8500 is designed to physically destroy hard drives in order to prevent persons from being able to "spin" the hard drive up to retrieve data. The PD-8500 will automatically bend the entire drive thereby destroying the disc platters and rendering the drive useless. Once bent, the hard drive will be easily distinguishable from non destroyed hard drives, ensuring the correct disposal of the correct hard drive.

The PD-8500 works as a stand alone or together with our HDTD-8200, HD-1 or CDS-4000FS hard drive degaussers. Degaussers will assure the complete erasure, demagnetization, of the information prior to destruction by the PD-8500. This is the ultimate combination in data security.

The PD-8500 will automatically destroy all formats and sizes of hard drives including SCSI and IDE. The PD-8500 doesn't rely on software, therefore it will destroy all hard drives in seconds. A simple push of a button will ensure complete destruction and ensure your data will not be retrieved.

To further enhance the PD-8500's portability, we include a convenient carrying case. This allows the PD-8500 to be easily transported to where the media is, thus reducing the risk of confidential data leaving a secure area.

New security and privacy mandates now require complete erasure or destruction of media containing private and confidential information prior to the re-use or disposal of the media.

ATTENTION WHEN DEGAUSSING:
 
Please note the following suggestions when using a Degausser:
 
Watches:
 
Remove your wristwatch when using the Degausser. Direct exposure to the magnetic field may damage some watches.
 
Magnetic Strip Cards:
 
Do not place your wallet or purse containing credit or phone cards directly on or above the conveyor belt. Magnetic strip cards are very easy to erase. However, having a wallet in your back pants pocket while using the Degausser will not erase the cards.
 
Tape storage:
 
Store videotapes you do not intend to erase approximately four feet from the Degausser. This will eliminate the opportunity for the operator to accidentally run “good” tapes through the Degausser.
 
Placement of Tapes:
 
When erasing tapes, place them on the left edge of the belt (as you face the machine). In order they may travel the full length of the conveyor belt for quality erasure.
 
Pacemakers:
 
Do not operate the Degausser if you have a pacemaker.
