The Mag EraSURE has the highest Degausser rating on the market. It will erase hard drives up to 5300 oersteds and magnetic tape up to 2600 oersted. Perpendicular recorded disk are erased up to 4200 oersted.
The Mag EraSURE is ideal for the fast erasure of PC hard disk drives and back-up tapes containing confidential or highly sensitive information. The Mag EraSURE leverages leading-edge technology, using a rare earth permanent magnet to degauss all magnetically recorded data.
The Mag EraSURE degausser erases media by passing it through a large magnetic field. The unit's mechanism will either work electronically through an AC power socket or in the case of power failure a hand crank is supplied to allow the user to manually operate the unit. Operating the unit in this way can take only 15 seconds for the entire degaussing process.
The Mag EraSURE is extremely user friendly. Simply open the hinged cover, insert the drive or tape into the degausser, push the button, and the device handles the rest.
The hydraulic lift mechanism enables the machine to be easily raised or lowered to meet unique operator requirements - especially useful for partially disabled or handicapped personnel. The lift also has wheels, making the degausser portable.
The unit is fast, quite, reliable and totally automatic. Rare earth permanent magnets generate no heat so the machine can be used continuously. No annoying duty cycle cool downs to slow processing.
As hard drive manufacturers move to perpendicular recording technology, the Mag EraSURE has met NSA's preliminary testing with excellent results and has met all government standards.
Since the unit employs permanent magnets that do not deteriorate with usage, recertification is not required.
IMPORTANT: Degaussing Hard Drives renders them unusable. Degaussing hard drive should only be done for destructive purposes.
